Library & CATV Volunteers Recognized

Sun Prairie Cable Access along with the Sun Prairie Public Library held a Volunteer Appreciation on Friday, October 12th to honor and recognize  individuals who’ve donated their time and talents throughout the year. Executive Director, Pam Steitz of Sun Prairie Cable Access presented awards to three individuals for their exceptional dedication and leadership.  Louie Blaser was the recipient of the Sun Prairie Cable Access Television Award for Outstanding Dedication and Service.  Louie Blaser has served on the SPCA-T Telecommunications Board for over thirty years.  Louie also serves as a volunteer producer, hosting his own show called "Louie Talks About".

The Friend of Access Award was presented to Representative Gary Hebl and Alderperson Jon Freund for their leadership and guidance in the fight to save Sun Prairie Cable Access.  Representative Hebl has been instrumental in the preservation of public access in Wisconsin which was threatened with elimination in the recent Video Competition Bill.  Alderperson Jon Freund worked with staff in navigating the intense legislative process.

The Sun Prairie Public Library and SPCA-TV jointly presented The Mildred Thompson Award for Exceptional Service to Don Hooser and Jeanie Farmer.   Thanks you again to all of our volunteers, without your  dedication and support we would not be where we are today.
