KIDS-4 At the EAA 2007

For one week a year there is no place on earth that brings together all the exciting aspects of flight as completely as EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  KIDS-4 was there to cover the event on July 24th, 2007.  Four kids, ages 10-13, took on the EAA AirVenture show and over 2,000 airplanes.  KIDS-4 representatives were Ben Kienitz, Nick Faust, Jessika Gerg, Leighla Baney and adult volunteer Don Winkler.  These young reporters made up the team of the youngest journalists visiting the 2007 EAA AirVenture Show.

This is the seventh year KIDS-4 reporters have covered this event.  This unique opportunity was provided through the cooperative efforts of  Dick Knapinski-Director of Public Relations for the EAA in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and Sun Prairie Cable Access staff members Rachel Packard and Cameron Thompson.

The kids tackled all aspects of the air show, talking with pilots and air enthusiasts from around the world.  With media passes the kids were able to experience aspects of the event that the general public does not have access to.  Highlights from the day include talking with narcotics experts from the United State border patrol, interviewing National Guard representatives, speaking with pilots who built and flew their own planes to the EAA, conducting several interviews with members of the C5 Transport, the CV-2 Caribou, “Red” Baron L. Taylor and Aircraft Trading Cards owner Todd Trainor.  The KIDS-4 reporters also found time to tour several Warbirds.  The kids finished up the day filming the EAA air stunt show.

Even if you weren't able to make it to this year's EAA AirVenture Show, you can catch highlights of this incredible convention on  KIDS-4.  Watch KIDS-4 or check www.sunprairiecableaccess for future airing times.
