Friends of KIDS-4 Receive Dane County Youth Commission Prevention Grant

The Dane County Youth Commission has awarded the Sun Prairie Community Foundation Inc. a $2,100 prevention grant.  The purpose of the grant is to help SPCA-TV teen staff and KIDS-4 crewmembers create a locally developed video documentary addressing gang prevention.  The video will be shown on SPCA-TV, and be made available to all area high schools and cable access centers in Dane County.  Specifically, the video will address gang related topics that are issues right here in Dane County.  Our goal is to educate parents and children of Dane County about the risks, warning signs, and prevention of gang related activity.  SPCA-TV will work in conjunction with such organizations as the Sun Prairie Police Department and the Sun Prairie Area School District to gather information directly related to gang issues happening in Sun Prairie.  The idea developed in response to the growing problem of gang activity in and around Dane County.
